A: No, the SurviCam surveillance camera is connected directly to your internet connection.

Q: Can I only record straight to the SurviCam data centre?
A: No. We can also place a local storage device at the premises of your SurviCam installation.

Q: Can I access my SurviCam on my blackberry?
A: Yes. Just go to http://appworld.blackberry.com/webstore/content/34411/?lang=en to download the app and log in via the app with your valid SurviCam username and password.

Q: Can I access my SurviCam on my iPhone or iPad?
A: Yes. Just go to http://itunes.apple.com/tw/app/survicam/id434833873?mt=8 to download the app and log in via the app with your valid SurviCam username and password.

Q: Can I access my SurviCam on my Android device?

Q: Can I give access to my SurviCam to other people?
A: Yes. You can ask for guest accounts.

Q: How is the SurviCam powered?
A: That depends on the camera model you choose. Most of the SurviCam surveillance cameras are powered via ‘power over ethernet’ (PoE). This requires one single cable that transfers power as well as data.

Q: How is SurviCam connecting to the internet?
A: SurviCam uses your existing internet connection or a connection to the internet via mobile data networks such as 3G or LTE.

Q: Will SurviCam stop working if I move it to another location?
A: No. SurviCam surveillance cameras will always work as long as they are connected to a working internet connection.

Q: I don’t have an internet connection where I want the SurviCam to be installed. What do I do?
A: SurviCam must be connected to the internet in order to work. We therefore suggest that you sign-up with a local internet service provider and get a connection. In case you live in an area where no internet service providers operate, we suggest you look at mobile internet solutions such as 3G. Just contact us if you are in doubt and we will help you choose an internet service provider.

Q: Do I need to setup port forwarding on my router for SurviCam to work?
A: No.

Q: Can I use SurviCam in a dark environments?
A: Yes, we have SurviCam surveillance cameras that are designed to work in the dark.

Q: I have my own camera – can I use that for the SurviCam service?
A: In some cases you can. Please contact us and tell us which camera you own. We will then review it for you.

Q: Can I use SurviCam outdoors?
A: Yes, we have cameras designed for just that.

Q: Can SurviCam capture audio as well?
A: No, not at present.

Q: Will I need to get new SurviCam surveillance cameras every time a new feature comes out?
A: No. As all SurviCam surveillance cameras are registered in our data centre, we are able to update the software in your SurviCam surveillance camera without your intervention.

Q; How long are my recordings stored?
A: The recordings are stored until your storage limit has been reached. From then it is a first in and first out basis. The storage amount on your account can be increased at all times. Contact us if this is what you want to do.
